The $277 million St George Hospital Redevelopment added the Acute Services Building, a centrepiece facility housing a 52-bed intensive care and high dependency unit, a cardiac catheterisation unit and 128 inpatient beds.
The expanded campus now spanned multiple buildings with different entry points, floor configurations and department clusters.
A single-format wayfinding solution wasn't enough. Digital mapping had to cover the new ASB and all existing buildings, with hardware placed at outdoor entrances and throughout interior corridors.
South Eastern Sydney Local Health District commissioned Envent to deliver a complete digital wayfinding network across St George Hospital, covering the newly completed Acute Services Building and the hospital's existing multi-building campus.
Envent deployed a three-format solution: outdoor 42" Sabre directories at external entry points, indoor 42" Sabre freestanding units within the campus, and 42" Scythe wall-mounted directories in tighter interior spaces.
All units ran industrial CPUs, PCAP touchscreens, ventilation and lockable enclosures on Envent's Envention wayfinding platform, with advertising and SMS content capability.
The UI gave patients and visitors direct access to emergency, buildings, wards, departments, outpatients, amenities and visiting hours from a single interface.
