St Stephens Hospital in Hervey Bay was built as Australia's first fully digital hospital, a purpose-designed facility for the Wide Bay community.
That positioning set the bar for everything inside it, including wayfinding. A standard directory wasn't going to cut it.
Uniting Care needed a high-end wayfinding interface with 3D graphics and a feature set that matched the hospital's digital-first identity, including advertising capability and SMS content delivery for patients and visitors.
Uniting Care commissioned Envent to design and install a state-of-the-art digital wayfinding system for St Stephens Hospital, one of the most technologically advanced healthcare facilities in Australia at the time of opening.
Envent delivered custom freestanding dual-sided 42" directories with illuminated signage, industrial CPUs, PCAP touchscreens and ventilated lockable enclosures, running a purpose-built 3D graphics wayfinding interface on the Envention platform.
The system included advertising and SMS content capabilities, giving the hospital a wayfinding experience that reflected its national significance as Australia's first fully digital hospital.
