Wollongong Hospital serves as the primary tertiary referral hospital for eight hospitals across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
A $110 million capital works and enhancement program expanded the facility significantly, creating a need for a comprehensive wayfinding network that could guide patients, visitors and staff through a larger, more complex campus across both new and existing areas of the building.
Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District commissioned Envent to design and install a mixed wayfinding network throughout Wollongong Hospital, following the completion of its $110 million capital works program.
Envent deployed a combination of Sabre Indoor 42" freestanding directories and Scythe 42" wall-mounted units, positioned strategically across the expanded hospital campus.
Each unit featured illuminated signage, industrial CPUs, PCAP touchscreens, ventilation and lockable enclosures, running Envent's Envention Specialty wayfinding platform with advertising and SMS content capability.
The dual-format deployment gave the hospital flexibility to cover high-traffic corridors and entrance areas equally.
